So, I was just watching interviews of one of my favorite directors John Carpenter. We all know and love this dude. He has made numerous iconic horror movies such as Halloween, The Thing, Christine, In the Mouth of Madness and so on. The interview I was watching was him talking about Rob Zombie’s remake of Halloween and he was asked if he liked it, he basically said that Rob butchered the movie with a backstory of Micheal, during one point of the interview he said
“He lied about me. He said I was very cold to him when he told me he was going to make it. Nothing could be further from the truth. I said, ‘Make it your own movie, man. This is yours now. Don’t worry about me.’ I was incredibly supportive. Why that piece of shit lied, I don’t know.”
Now I know this is an interview from awhile ago but this is news to me, I have no idea how all of this flew over without me hearing anything about it. After doing some more research I did find out that they buried the hatchet with each other, on September 27th 2016 John tweeted “To everyone fascinated with the JC/RZ feud, old news. We spoke Sunday, we buried the hatchet. Let’s move on.”
I’m glad to hear they buried the hatchet, I love both of them. If anyone is interested in watching the interview here’s the video.
